4 Benefits to Having a YouTube Channel for Your B2B Business
Is it worth it to have a channel for your business?
So you're a business owner, or you’re part of a small marketing team within a company.
Why should you have a YouTube channel?
It can be a lot of work of planning out videos, making those videos, posting those videos, reviewing those videos. So is it really worth it? In this video.
The answer is…yes!
In this edition of The Art of Video Marketing, we’re going to look at 4 benefits to having a YouTube channel for your B2B business.
BENEFIT #1 - RANK IN GOOGLE SEARCH
YouTube is, after all, owned by Google. That's pretty common knowledge nowadays. It is the second largest search engine in the world next to Google. Just by creating videos regularly on a channel, you are increasing your digital footprint.
Google likes to push videos into search results, and you've probably noticed this if you've done any kind of search lately on Google. You'll see pages, but you'll also see near the top, especially, suggested videos that are what Google thinks you might be looking for. Other social platforms don't do this. They don't have that search capability linked to Google or any other external search engine.
Social media platforms do have their own internal search features built in through hashtags, but it's really just relegated to just that particular platform, not outside it.
Imagine if customers who have a problem that you are trying to solve are looking up solutions to that problem and they find your content pop up in search results.
BENEFIT #2 - A MEDIA HUB FOR PROSPECTS
By media hub, we mean a place to go where your ICP can get their questions answered and learn more about your brand. A lot of businesses have used YouTube in the past as a sort of storage folder—the kind you’d use on Dropbox or Google Drive.
It's becomes a place where they throw their videos out of there to store them without really any intention of doing anything with them. But YouTube is meant to be used more like a content hub, a place to keep coming back to for content that solves your problems, that educates you, that entertains you, and builds this long-term relationship with the brand.
So by having an active channel, you have a space where your ideal customers can find you, engage with you, and build an ongoing relationship with you.

BENEFIT #3 - ADS ARE CHEAPER ON YOUTUBE
Yeah, this is no joke. YouTube ads are cheaper than Facebook. And they're way cheaper than LinkedIn. This makes it easier to access the huge global audience that's already on YouTube.
If you’re looking into running video ads, YouTube is a great platform to do it.
BENEFIT #4 - YOUTUBE VIDEOS ARE EASY TO REPURPOSE
Long form videos work great on YouTube. You've probably watched plenty of them and you've seen them run anywhere from 10 to even 20 minutes.
Not that you necessarily need to create videos that long, but if you did, it's really easy to chop those videos up into shorter segments. You can easily create YouTube Shorts to put on your channel, and to share on other social media platforms. With long-form videos, it's really easy to clip the audio out and create a podcast episode.
You can also get those videos transcribed, take the text, and use that as a blog post.
You get the idea. You can do a lot in terms of repurposing with a long-form video than if you started with a two minute video or less.
So with the right strategy in place. You can start seeing benefits and results like these for your business.
